This Comical JRPG Makes Has Suikoden Inspired Character Recruitment

Citizens of Earth for Eden Industries draws on the humor of games like Earthbound and Little King's Story for it's plot. Instead of a brooding warrior, you are the Vice President of Earth and have regular people in your party. You know like a Used Car Salesman and a Barista that serves as a buffer.

'

Every character in Citizens of Earth is recruitable, even your Mom. When characters aren't fighting monsters with you they work their regular job in town. Characters are more effective in battle and in town when you level them up, so there's a little bit of a town building mechanic in Citizens of Earth too. It's a quirky concept and Siliconera saw the game earlier this year.

Citizens of Earth opened a Kickstarter page and $15 Canadian dollars gets you a copy of the game. $25 includes beta access and an exclusive prologue story. Eden Industries' goal is to raise $100,000, but if they can stretch to $160,000 they will release the game for Wii U. $170,000 brings Citizens of Earth to 3DS, $250,000 makes it a PS4 game, and the $260,000 target is for a VIta port.
