Namco Bandai's free to play Gundam game has been quite successful in Japan. Mobile Suit Gundam: Battle Operation uses up energy cubes each time you sortie for a mission. The game was developed for PlayStation 3 and a companion app lets you customize your Gundam while you're on the go.
